Proving there is a market for your innovation
Developing an innovative technology or product is only the first step. The real challenge is checking that there is a need in the market, knowing who would be willing to pay for it and deciding how to reach those customers.
In IBD Technology, we address this with commercial validation and a commercialisation strategy: the plan that defines which customers to target first, with what message, through which channel and with what resources.
Testing your innovation with potential customers before investing in production, patents or a sales structure, to find out whether there is a real need and who would pay for it.
The commercialisation strategy decides how you earn revenue from your technology.
Three connected phases that we adapt to your situation.
- DiagnosisWe analyse what your organisation needs, what its capabilities are and where the real opportunities lie, looking at trends, emerging technologies and competitors.
- DesignWe search for and assess technologies, start-ups, universities, technology centres and innovative companies, identify partners and define roadmaps with milestones and validation criteria.
- MarketWe identify sectors, potential customers and industrial partners for proofs of concept and pilot projects, and arrange the first meetings with the decision-maker. The negotiation and the agreement are yours.

Frequently asked questions
- When is the right time to validate my technology?
- As early as possible. Validating before investing in production, patents or a sales team lets you change course while it is still cheap to do so.
- Do I need a finished product?
- Not necessarily. We can work with a prototype, an advanced-stage technology or a research result, as long as there is a solid technical base.
- What is a commercialisation strategy?
- It is the decision on how to earn revenue from your technology: selling it yourself, through distributors, partnering with an industrial partner or licensing it to third parties.
- Do I have to sign up for all three phases?
- No. Some organisations mainly need go-to-market support; others need to identify partners or technologies. The scope is agreed with you at the start.
